JusticeSA campaign
Who Really Benefits from B-BBEE?
JusticeSA asks Government to show whether B-BBEE is lifting disadvantaged South Africans—or whether benefits are mainly reaching people who are already better off—and why race should still outweigh present-day disadvantage.
Why this campaign exists
South Africa’s race-based empowerment policies are intended to redress past disadvantage, but they generally use race as the qualifying measure rather than a person’s present-day wealth or need. JusticeSA created this campaign to ask Government to show the evidence that these rules still direct benefits to people who are genuinely disadvantaged today, and to explain why a poor person should be treated differently from a wealthier person because of race.
